The Effects of Students with Disabilities-Directed Peer Tutoring Connected Barista Education on the Self-Esteem and Peers¡¯ Acceptance of Students with Disabilities in High School

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of students with disabilities-directed peer tutoring connected barista education on the self-esteem and peers¡¯ acceptance of students with disabilities in high school. For this purpose, 28 students participated in this study, who are attending P high school in Gyeonggi-do: 4 special class students and 24 students without with disabilities. Among 24 students without with disabilities, 12 participated in the experiment, and the rest 12 were placed in the control group. This program consisted of 15 session(5 pre-training sessions and 10 sessions in the main session). In order to investigate the effects of students with disabilities-directed peer tutoring connected barista education on self-esteem of students with disabilities, pre-and post test scores of students with disabilities in experimental group were compared. In addition, in order to examine peers acceptance of students with disabilities two independent sample t tests were conducted for the differences in the pre-test and post-test scores of experimental and control groups. The results of this study are as follows. First, all 4 students with disabilities participated in the experimental group showed a positive change in self-esteem. Second, the students without disabilities in experimental and control groups showed significant difference in the acceptance of the students with disabilities. In the experimental group, the increase in their acceptance score after the program participation was much higher than the control group, and this difference was statistically significant. Finally, based on the results of this study, the discussion and suggestions for further study were provided.
